Just about 90 minutes from most of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, you’ll find this lovely mountain town. Spirited local businesses, and a beautiful setting surrounding Lake Gregory. Come see for yourself!
Located just above the fray in the San Bernardino Mountains, Crestline is a hidden gem within reach. Nature lovers, adventurers, and lovers of music and art will all find something here. Crisp mountain air, and gorgous light through the trees remove you from your city woes, with (nearly) all the amenities you need for a weekend, or a lifetime. A stroll around Lake Gregory is about 2.5 miles of easy trail, or you can stick to the roads if you don’t want to get your feet dirty.
Beautiful views in all directions. Paddleboats, Duffy Boat rentals, and beach access are available, and in the summer, Lake Gregory has one of the largest inflatable water parks on the West Coast. Great food and nightlife on Lake Drive, and ample provisions are available for your weekend away.
Adrenaline and nostalgia can be found nearby at Sky Park at Santa’s Village. Zip-lines, climbing walls, skating, and some of the most curated mountain bike trails in California are available, with food and adult beverage vendors on site. Skiing and snowboarding can be found as close as 30 minutes from Crestline at Snow Valley. Another 15 minutes gets you to Snow Summit or Bear Mountain.
The year-round atmosphere is highlighted by (usually light) snow, fall colors, and the coolest 4th of July Fireworks show reflecting off the lake. Of course, the hometown parade is always fun, and full of characters and local flavor. Holiday spirit is alwasy alive and well here, with families enjoying the celebrations of their choice all around town.
Lake Drive features some great shopping and restaurants, including vintage stores, vinyl records, coffee houses, and a variety of weird and fun shopping. Top Town shops and dining are nearby, and host a variety of food and shopping options.
The local mountain store, Goodwin’s, was severely damaged in the freak storm of 2023, but they have just completed the rebuild, and it’s open for business. A spectacular fully-stocked grocery & provisions store, along the lines of a Pavillions or Gelson’s. Full featured, and gorgeous. Pre-made food counter, deli, butcher, excellent produce, wine and spirits … they even have an ice cream counter. Goodwin’s is a “town center” in its own right, and has just about everything you’ll need when visiting Crestline.
The local watering holes are fun, too. The Stockade was built in the ’30s, and feels like a throwback, but they’ve updated their menu, and it’s really good! Old-school wood bar, and nice people running it. They also have live music (local and touring acts) regularly, with good vibes.
For a weekend stay, check out the Atomic Squirrel Lodge. Gorgeous lake views, easy on-deck parking, and 3 ample queen bedrooms, 2.5 baths. Great spot for working from home, or a weekend getaway.
We love this little mountain town, and we think you will too. Bring your family up for the weekend, or “work from home” overlooking the lake. Adventure, nature, food, music, and great people. What’s not to love?
